Reconciliation Matters

Colossians 1:3-23

In 2008 the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) was formed to "document the history and lasting impacts of the Canadian Indian residential school system on Indigenous students and their families. In their 2015 report the TRC proposed 94 'calls to action' regarding reconciliation between Canadians and Indigenous peoples.

Some of the calls to action are embarrassing (not everyone in Canada has clean water?!?!), some are complicated (what are the remedies for past victimization?), but all will require hard work and a new way of thinking and acting, which is hard work in itself.

When the Apostles' Creed proclaims, "I believe in the forgiveness of sins," not only are we are believing that God forgives sin, but we are also proclaiming there is a new way to live - a way where sin no longer exists! In this second last message on the Apostles' Creed, we will be talking about why reconciliation matters, what the matters of biblical reconciliation are, and the future to which it points.
