Luke 7:36-50
It would seem to me that hospitality is the epitome of generosity; a good host both gives and receives, he or she blesses and is blessed. In other words, a good host knows how to be a good guest and vice versa. This is seen incredibly while Jesus is dining at the house of Simon the Pharisee. Although not his house, Jesus creates space for a woman of ill-repute to be able to bless him (anointing his feet) and blesses her (forgiving her sins). If we are going to truly reflect the glory of God we need to continue to grow as a people who practice generosity through hospitality - as host and as a guest. I look forward to gathering together this Sunday to worship this one who can say to each of us, “your sins are forgiven.”
