Luke 15:11-24
Practicing Generosity Part 1: Receiving
Over the next few weeks, we will scratch the surface of what it means to be a people who practice generosity. For many, if not all of us, when we think of generosity, we think of giving. Giving, in all of its various forms, is definitely a part of what it means to be generous, but it is not where being a people of generosity starts. From a biblical perspective, in order to truly be a generous people, we do not start with giving, but rather with receiving. As such, we will start our series this Sunday contemplating generosity as receiving. In two weeks we will look at generosity as giving, and then on April 29 finish the series by examining practicing generosity through hospitality, which requires generous giving and receiving.
