Philippians 1:3-11
The Peace of God as Partnership

"The Peace of God as Partnership"

Philippians 1:1-11

“Rejoice in the Lord always….Let your gentleness be evident to all…
And the peace of God…will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

In a world filled with division, where spouses are at odds with one another and children rebel, where anxiety and depression are a reality for so many, you may ask, “how can I rejoice?!…where is the peace of God?” The church in Philippi existed in a divided world as well. Oppression, dysfunctional family structures, concern about the future, were their reality as much as they are ours, and yet, as he concludes his letter to them, Paul urges them to rejoice and promises that the peace of God will be with them.

Over the next three weeks, we are going to explore the peace of God, the bookends of Pauls’ letter to his friends in Philippi, as partnership, proclamation, and perseverance.

May the peace of God be with you, through you, and keep you. Amen!
