What do we do when things are not as they should be? How do we respond to devastating news? Who do we approach or blame for the difficult or disastrous situation or situations we are confronted with? Upon hearing the news of his beloved Jerusalem’s dismal state of affairs Nehemiah, cupbearer to the king of Persia and governor of Judah is absolutely devastated. In his brokenness, Nehemiah repents…for something he personally had no part in! This Sunday as we gather as one church and begin a four-part journey through the book of Nehemiah, we will discuss the absolute necessity of brokenness before God and practically what that means in our day to day lives.
