Numbers 6:1-12 “Who Are We Going to Be?
Part 1 of the book of Numbers is God’s instruction to Moses preparing the people to leave Mount Sinai and head toward the Promised Land. The first six chapters are specific to the people and the camp itself and weigh heavily on what it means to be God’s chosen holy people. One specific group of people were those who wanted to make a special vow as a Nazirite - a person who was publicly recognizing him or herself to be consecrated, devoted, and separated for the purposes of God. This Sunday, as we continue exploring the book of Numbers, let us ask the question individually and as the church collectively, who is it that we are going to be? along with the follow up question, what is it going to take to get there?
