Romans 3:19-31
Scripture: Romans 3:19-31
Message: The Law of Grace and Faith
Speaker: Tyler Graftaas
Growing up my parents would often say, “do what I tell you, you’ll understand one day.” I never really understood what they meant at the time, and it would have been interesting had I kept a journal of all those things I would one day understand, but now I find myself saying the same thing to my kids, “do what I tell you, you’ll understand one day.” Similarly, Paul’s writing to the Roman and other churches has the same emphasis, only in the reverse. Because he has the journal of "the things to one day understand" (the Law and the Prophets) he is looking at the notes and saying, “See! Here is what we have been waiting to understand for generations! In Jesus the Messiah, all these things we’ve been doing are fully made known and brought to completion! Because Jesus has fulfilled the Law, he is the one the prophets pointed to all along, in Jesus, we are obedient to the law when we live lives of faith under his abundant grace.”
I look with anticipation to joining together once again this Sunday to worship the author and perfecter of our faith, Jesus, the Messiah.
