Acts 16:16-34

Scripture: Acts 16:16-34
Message: Faith Unbridled
Speaker: Pastor Cornel van Eyk

Pastor Tyler continues his vacation this weekend.  Pastor Cornel is stepping in to bring tell us about Faith Unbridled:

The first reaction when reading the story of the slave girl is that Paul acted out of compassion for this girl.
However, the text plainly says that Paul was "very annoyed", so it appears fair to say that this exorcism was almost done impulsively.
Paul was tired of being heckled by the spirit that possessed her and was able to recognize who he was, who his God was, and what he had to offer.
He was focussed on doing what he came to do and healing slave girls did not appear to be a the top of his agenda.  Paul found her distracting even though she proclaimed the truth.
Was she too loud, or too repetitious, or was it just too much for the truth to come from such a source?
I look forward to telling you about the rest of this story!

Sincerely,
Pastor Cornel van Eyk
