"How do we work out our faith?"

Philippians 2:5-16a

“It’s excruciatingly painful” or some similar expression of anguish has been heard around our house over the last few years. A blown Achilles tendon, a torn ACL, a cracked vertebra, have been the experience of my family members, and I’ve stubbed my toe a couple of times. Three of these injuries, even when healed, will have impacts that last a lifetime and will require continual “working out” in order to mitigate their impact.
Similarly, Paul encourages and directs the church at Philippi to work out their faith with fear and trembling, but what does this really mean? How do we work it out, and why with fear and trembling? Gathering for worship we will engage in a discussion to work out and attempt to address these questions. Come ready to hear, and share, the word of God together.
