Growing Christmas was filled with Christmas baking (and eating), intentionally visiting people we rarely saw the rest of the year, anticipating the arrival of Santa and getting up very early Christmas morning to see what he had brought us - things were carefree, fun and filled with excitement around every corner. As I have grown older, become a parent and now pastoring, that sense of carefree and fun isn’t quite what it used to be. Now my mind is occupied with getting things done, ensuring everything is scheduled properly, and trying to keep my head above water. It many ways it would seem that responsibility is inversely proportional to carefree fun and excitement; or that the anticipation of Santa (whom I no longer anticipate) is required for Christmas to be fun. However, the Christmas story as found in Luke 2 is nothing less than unbelievable excitement and awe at the birth of the son of God found lying in a manger. This Sunday our children’s ministry will present A Charlie Brown Christmas, which reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you to Natalie and the Children’s Ministry team for all the time they have given to minister to our kids, who will in turn minister to us this Christmas Eve morning! Peace and Blessings, Pastor Tyler
